Decades later, we sensed the situation deteriorating.
My father had gone to our family temple near the border. He locked the temple & turned back. He saw 3 people who he recognized & raised his hands to greet them. He was gunned down just outside our temple.
Some time later, me & my relatives started driving to the temple.
At a certain point, a motorcyle with 3 guys started following us. They followed us all the way to the temple & alighted when we did.
Our ancestral temple in a village close the border was in terrible shape. When we were in, they just stood outside & observed us. It was unnerving.
We then left, and have never returned since."
