Edward Jenner is called the "father of immunology". How did you come up with his vaccine? vaccine comes from vacca, the Latin word for the cow. Indians had widely used cowpox pus for treatment. Milkmaids told him of using cowpox pus to ward off smallpox.
The cowpox pus treatment emerged from the Ayurvedic concept of "Similar cures similar", which is the idea behind vaccines.
